      ANNUAL TOWN MEETING

    VOTING RESULTS

     

    Town of Silver Cliff, Marinette County

     

    Notice is hereby given, the Town of Silver Cliff Annual Town Meeting was held April 16, 2024 at the Town Hall, N11929 County Rd I, Silver Cliff WI 54104 at 6 pm.  Results of votes taken are listed below.

     


    1. Salaries for elected officials;Chair – Motion by Chris Norton to keep the salary the same, motion seconded by Joann Cisler. 24 No, 31 Yes. Motion carried, Chair salary to remain at the current amount $6386.00 annually.
    2. Supervisors – Motion by Chris Norton to keep the salary the same, motion seconded by Kay Scheurman. 15 No. 40 Yes.  Motion carried for the Supervisor salary to remain at the current amount $3399.00 annually.
    3. Clerk - Motion by Chris Norton to keep the salary the same, motion seconded by May Scheurman.  After discussion, this motion was withdrawn.  Motion by Vicki Farrell to increase the Clerk salary to $22000.00 annually, motion seconded by Mike Cios. 20 No, 31 Yes. Motion carried to increase the Clerk salary to $22000.00 effective April 15, 2024.
    4. Treasurer – Motion by Chris Norton to keep the salary the same, motion seconded by Jeff De Bauche. 11 No, 45 Yes. Motion carried for the Treasurer salary to remain at $4488.00 annually.
    5. Constable – Motion by Sabin Rosembaum to keep the Constable salary the same, motion seconded by Darryl Victoreen. Motion carried unanimously to keep the Constable salary at $3000.00 annually by raised hands.
    6. Grant authority for the Town to take a loan up to $550000.00 from the Office of Public Commissioners for the remainder of costs of constructing the emergency services building. Motion by Ed Farrell to grant authority for the Town to take a loan up to $550000.00 from the Office of Public Commissioners for the remainder of costs of constructing the emergency service building. No 24, Yes 32.  Motion carried to grant town authority to take a loan up to $550000.00 from the Office of Public Commissioners for the remainder of costs of constructing the emergency services building.
    7. Eliminate the Code Enforcement Officer position. Motion made by Chris Norton to eliminate the Code Enforcement Officer; motion seconded by Ed Burdick. Yes = 30, No = 19.  Motion carried to eliminate the Code Enforcement Officer position, advisory only.
